Death Care Circle is a home for funeral celebrants, funeral directors, funeral assistants, end-of-life doulas, palliative care workers, and anyone working in death and dying, built by people who've done the work themselves.

This work asks a lot.

As a Funeral Director, Assistant or Celebrant, you sit with families on the worst days of their lives, and you're expected to show up steady, prepared, and present, every time. 

As an end of life doula, you're working with people across the full spectrum of living well, living with a terminal diagnosis, actively dying and often their families before, during and after death.

In palliative care, aged care and volunteer work, you're holding space for heavy emotions.

Most people doing this work do it alone, without anywhere to bring the harder questions or the days you can't shake.

We're building the place that holds space for that.

Built by people who've actually done this work

Death Care Circle is founded by Yvonne Adele, a funeral and marriage celebrant, end-of-life doula, and funeral director, alongside co-founder Sally Cant, one of Australia's leading celebrant trainers and a passionate death care advocate. Yvonne is the Director of the Celebrants Training College, founded by Sally many years ago. 

Sally has been training celebrants since 2001. Her first book, The Heart and Soul of Celebrancy, has sold over 7,000 copies and is used as a training text across Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.

Between them, Yvonne and Sally have supported and guided more families, trained more celebrants, and made more mistakes worth learning from than either would say out loud.

Death Care Circle is what they wished existed when they were starting out: a professional community, not just a training pathway.
